President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, former President Donald Trump, and Senator JD Vance set aside their political differences to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
The four leaders gathered in New York on Wednesday, September 11, for a remembrance event at Ground Zero in Manhattan.
In a moment of unexpected civility, Trump and Harris exchanged smiles and shook hands before the solemn ceremonies began. This gesture came just hours after their first in-person meeting at the presidential debate on the evening of September 10.
However, Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, and Vice President Harris did not appear to interact during the 9/11 remembrance ceremony.
